: ISSCC 2005 - MEMS in the ''RF Trends'' Session

Papers on RF MEMS at the International Solid-State Circuits Conference 2005 were grouped in the "RF Trends: Above-IC and mm-Wave" session. The session was well attended, and one fact stood out - in RF MEMS technology, Europe reigned supreme.
The presentations coming out the Eu MARTINA project, on above-IC fabrication of FBAR resonators and filters, drew the largst attention, judging from the many detailed questions after the presentations.

: ISSCC 2005 - RFMEMS: Fact or Stiction?

RF MEMS: Fact or Fiction was the title of a podium discussion at this years International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) in San Francisco. The panel of industrial representatives looked primarily at the application aspects of RF MEMS and agreed that a killer application was direly needed for most MEMS structures in RF and microwave systems - all except BAW filters, which have found their application in mobile phone filters and duplexers.
